Porn law overturned ? That's BAD news, surely ? (5.00 / 1) (#1)
by dmg on Fri May 31st, 2002 at 07:41:18 PM PST
I mean, unless they have brought in some extra legislation to curb internet use by under-18s surely this law is leaving children in danger of viewing porn, and terrorist manuals, and god knows what else.

Its time to BAN internet access in public libraries.

Banning the internet doesn't go far enough (none / 0) (#2)

as all this "porn" on the internet is created by human beings in the Real World. We must ban children's access to the Real World -- it is the only way to keep them safe.

Unlike what is thought in the third world, or was previously thought in Victorian Britain, the advanced Western world knows that childhood is sacrosant. The slightest glimpse of a breast will turn our children into depraved paedophiles, preying on their own schoolchums. This causes a chain reaction that leads todays youth into a cataclysmic moral decline, which can only be prevented by giving them guns. These weapons are responsible for turning boys into Men. -- because it isn't

as long as we're thinking of the children (none / 0) (#4)

Unlike what is thought in the third world,

Thing is, the parts of the world where sexuality isnt equated with trauma are those parts where pornography isnt intentionally confounded with sexuality for commercial gain. I'm not exposed to nearly as much nudity or sexuality in America as I am to the vapid, self-absorbed gluttony that is pornography. But that's an entirely selfish point of view; I could also consider the possibly unfortunate chain of circumstances that led an actress to her casting call.

It takes a village to raise a child and I dont think a village of wankers has the child's interest at heart.

The difference between trolling and life is life doesnt have to make sense.

Wankers are usually too self-absorbed to have children.

Proof: The sweeping extinction of Modern Europe. If you people don't get some healthy priorities quickly, in a few generations you'll be facing nuclear war between Frankistan and Londonistan.

P.S. Sorry for the fascist outburst. :)

Peace and much love...

Don't worry, tkatchev. (none / 0) (#6)

For every aloof workaholic couple who are 'not quite ready' for children, there are ten real-lovin' council estate nonces popping another sprog out to join them traipsing around shopping centres.

The proletariat. (5.00 / 1) (#7)

From my experience, "the proletariat" nowadays are too busy killing themselves with industrial-grade narcotics to meaningfully dedicate themselves to procreation.

Your mileage may vary, though.

Thats what you get for not reading the article. I thought it was about a law to further liberalize the porn industry.

Indeed, libary access to porn should be stopped at all costs! Imagine sitting in a quiet libary, reading the latest Soldier of Fortune when suddenly you hear grunts and moans coming from the corner of the room. You move over astonished, hand ready on glock...only to find a teenager on the computer paying a visit to
Personally I would shoot the fucker.
