"Go fetch yer shotgun paw! Here come them darn moral relativists agin'!"

My working definition of terrorism:
"the use of violent, usually deadly, force against non-combatants to further one's political agenda"

I find this to be reasonably practical and concise statement to objectively remove the good versus evil way of looking at things that simplifies the world neatly and conveniently into the "with US and for goodness" side and the "against US and for evil" side.

[Sharp craak sound of shotgun pump being pulled back to load shells into the chamber for firing]

Paw says: "I'm a givin' ya two seconds from right now to get your darn godless Jew nigger-lovin' ass far enough away from my property and sight before I'm not accountable for my actions to protect what's mine here."

The US side by definition cannot do anything evil because it is ipso facto good. The "against US" side must therefore be evil because if it were good it would be on the "with US" side.

"You deaf or something Kike boy? You ready to go to hell today for your sins against our Lord?"

Isn't this pretty much the level of explanation and analysis offered to the American people by their government to explain the rationale for the war on 'terror'?

[Booom! Booom!]

Not that I was at all opposed to the need for self-defense in a mean and violent world.

Not that I could have offered any comprehensive global plan to disentangle the tangled, re-tangled, and re-re-tangled web of white lies and alibies that comprise the overhead of "maintaining global stability".

Not that US foreign policies are ipso facto evil because they rely on white lies and alibies to keep them safe from too much distracting public criticism.

Not that the framers of the constitution put foreign policy under the purview of the legislative branch - for that very reason.

Paw says: "Y'know what maw? You can kill a kike, but you can't shut him up!"

Why you are boring (5.00 / 3) (#1)

You live to be morally outraged. That is your whole purpose in life. You continually undergo the most unbelievable contortions just so you can proselytize, even though you know full well that you will never gain a single convert.

But that's just part of the game as well. You don't want to make anybody think or offer reasonable suggestions. All you really want to do is make sure that you have a ready supply of moral superiority at your disposal so you can affect a haughty air at need.

The two biggest problems with this is that a) it reveals you to be a very shallow and insecure person, and b) you are invaribaly full of shit anyway and usually don't know what the hell you are talking about.

Your comments indicate that deep inside you do care and I appreciate that. I have found that it does no good to try and change myself to suit what others find "wrong" with me. What others find "wrong" with one might often be projections of their own perceptions of self. I do find what you believe you see in my writing worth thinking about however so thanks for taking the time.

Reasons for writing - are mine (none / 0) (#8)
by Inden on Fri Nov 30th, 2001 at 10:02:39 PM PST
I think I wrote this one to get some of the craziness I was feeling from talking to White racialists on the board processed in my system. The idea of shooting the I voice came as I realized how long I had been spending today writing. Also it was a way of experimenting with how I feel the characters exactly intersperse with the self-serious nobody listening to the mutterings of the moral relativist except maybe himself - maybe.

I write these things and put them out there and then see what happens. The process of writing this one felt cathartic and powerful to me so I figured there was something worth posting here.

It's not my ambition to alter what I have to say to fall into an adequacy party line of conservative right-thinkingness. I'm for everyone being the best whatever it is they are and living and letting live.

I rather enjoy exploring what I believe through the mechanism of challenging intellectual debate - such as happened when I posted about Islam. It is an iterative creative process and an exploration at the same time.

This is what I came here for. An awe-inspiring display of ad hominem argument and spurious psychoanalysis.

Stop the lies (none / 0) (#5)

FACT - West Virginia is a is a state with a very strong liberal Democrat voting record. Furthermore, Sentator Jay Rockefeller (D - WV) had one of the strongest pro-Israel voting records in congress

FACT - West Virginia is not a historically racist state. It was in fact formed when the western part of Virginia seceded from the rest of the state to side with the Union during the American Civil War

FACT - Your cheap caricature of proud mountain people as inbred hicks is as dehumanizing as any antisemitic or white-supremacist insult.

Crap on a crutch, man! Are you any indication of the intellectual level over on K5? I'd sooner hang out at Fark.

Yes, I dropped the W. Virginia slight (none / 0) (#7)
by Inden on Fri Nov 30th, 2001 at 09:50:53 PM PST
I dropped the West Virginia slight in the version submitted for the article queue. Which probably will be rejected even though I murder myself in the story which I figured they would kind of like.

Is it possible to have that version replace this one?

This is a caricature of myself taking myself too seriously for one thing. It's my story and you can hate it if you want to. I rather enjoy the multiple levels of self-mockery as well as mockery of the ones who mock my self-mockery.
