First Incision, American Television Viewer, Condemns

 Author:  Topic:  Posted:

Birmingham, Alabama.--(ADEQUACY)--Oct. 14, 2001--First Incision, Television Viewer and occaisional watcher of Gilligan's Island, today condemned the recent CBS television documentary Surviving Gilligan's Island. "The one-hour special insults the intelligence of the American people." he said. "While Gilligan's Island was a funny show, it wasn't so great as to merit a whole prime-time special."

He also accused Surviving Gilligan's Island of cashing in on a popular CBS series. "Look at the title. They are just trying to pump up excitement for their upcoming Survivor III." said First Incision. "I mean, crass marketeering is bad enough. But crass marketeering featuring cheesy re-creation of 'pivotal events' on the Gilligan set? And commentary by Bob Denver?" The National Merit Scholar and former Secretary of the Honors Program added "Come on CBS! Don't you think the the American people have been through enough, without being subjected to this?"

Gilligan's Island can be seen weekdays at 4:30 AM on TBS SuperStation. Surviving Gilligan's Island is not currently schedule for rebroadcast.

I wanted to see that. Did you ever see "Growing Up Brady?" It's excellent.

Missed this; pity. (none / 0) (#2)

Didn't even think to tape it, either. Must have been too busy watching the fireworks visible in the eyes of my favorite MOS or doing something else equally trivial; c'est la vie.
