because free speech is a right I care about (and lots of people agree with me), and walking round with a handgun pretending to be John Wayne is a right I don't care about (and lots of people agree with me). Duh.

thus the reason for wanting to know what differences exist between an opressive government and an opressive corporation

Oh Christ, you're that same fucking idiot who keeps thinking I want to argue with him on kuro5hin, aren't you. The difference, you fucking mug, is that there are no oppressive governments in the G7 countries, but fucking thousands of oppressive corporations.

-- Face it, at the end of the day, you've got to accept that New Zealand is for cunts.

Well considering it is about half the time *YOU* reply to me, and half *I* reply to you I don't think I'm "that same fucking idiot".

Boy, you supplied a definitive answer by simply making the assertion that there are no opressive governments only opressive corporations.

Hmm.. MS won't let me choose my OS on a new computer. On the other hand, the US government won't let me choose what kind of drugs I want to allieviate ailments with.

Yeah. You're right. The corporations are just *WAY* more opressive. And the means to stop them is so much more impossible to do than to stop an opressive goverment right?

And regarding your first reply: Is it correct for me to assume then that your philosophy is based on whether or not "lots of people agree with you"? If so, maybe you'd be happy to know "direct democracy" would probably be a more philosophically sound way for you to argue.
